MATCH REPORT

On a warm and sunny day Altrincham's Youth played very well against an older side, three of whom were well known to manager George Heslop. These were Dale Newbrook, Pat Claffey and Mario Daniel (- all former Alty Youth players).
The Trafford website Chatline stated that it was obviously an experienced Robins outfit, which was taken as a great compliment when one considers the line-up and total appearances of the Youth Team before this game, as listed below:
The game was basically decided by substitutions when, at half-time, with Altrincham leading 1-0 from a Stephen Lunt goal, they made five changes. Within five minutes of the re-start Trafford were leading 2-1, the first inevitably scored by Mario Daniel. However, a lot was learnt about the players in a game full of movement and passing.
